BREAKING: NEW UNITED STATES CHAMPION

Tonight on Smackdown a NEW United States Champion was crowned in a fatal four way match including former Champion R-Truth, Rey Mysterio, Andrade Cien Almas, and Samoa Joe. In R-Truth's recent quest to be more like John Cena, for the second week in a row, the blue brand was treated to a US Open Challenge and the fatal four way match was set upon all three contenders answering the call. Rey Mysterio had the match all but won with a 619 to Almas however Samoa Joe took advantage and stole a three count after breaking up the near fall. This is Joe's first main roster championship.
