Jose Lothario (1943 - 2018)
The world of professional wrestling lost another pro-wrestling icon today with the passing of Texas wrestling legend Jose Lothario. He made his in-ring debut in 1956 and was a mainstay in the San Antonio and Houston wrestling territories in the 70s. He shared the ring with some of the biggest names in the business and drew massive crowds for his bouts against Harley Race, The Funk brothers, and Jack Briscoe. He retired from the ring in 1985 but was infuential in training Shawn Michaels, even appearing alongside him during his WrestleMania XII iron man match against long time nemesis Bret Hart. Former NWA President confirmed his passing via Twitter this afternoon. We mourn this loss with the wrestling community and the Lothario family.
