Jim 'The Anvil' Neidhart (1955 - 2018)
Unfortunately, the Round Table must say goodbye to another pro-wrestling legend. Jim, The Anvil, Neidhart passed away this morning after suffering a grand mal seizure. Anvil was a physically intimidating, hard-hitting tough guy in and out of the ring. Early in his life he was successful athlete with state records in California high school track and field. After a brief period in the NFL where he played for the Oakland Raiders and Dallas Cowboys, he returned to Calgary and trained with Stu Hart - working for his Stampede Wrestling promotion from 1978 to 1983 and again in 1985. He found main stream success in the WWF with his brother-in-law Bret 'The Hitman" Hart as the Hart Foundation. The duo debuted at WrestleMania 2 and won their first WWF Tag Team Championships in 1987. Anvil's almost 30 year in-ring career is decorated with accomplishments and achievement, winning tag-team and individual gold in promotions all over the world. He found success at major promotions like the NWA, WWE, WCW, ECW & NJPW and has been enshrined in the Canadian and New England Pro-Wrestling Halls of Fame.
His daughter Natalya continues the family's wrestling legacy and our thoughts go out to her, the Hart, and Neidhart family during this time.
